So you might know that I had a crazy year so far. I was out on tour in Germany, and after 2 gigs I had to rush home to look after my wife, who'd been taken into hospital. Driving home from Munich to Leeds (via a motorway motel and a ferry), abandoning a tour to see a sick loved one, was not a nice experience.
Then the UK tour was immediately afterwards. We made the decision to go for it, and all was going well. Sadly, however, we had to use our day off to go back into hospital, and Natasha was told she needed surgery. So, we had to cancel more shows. She had the surgery on Monday, we took the rest of the week off at home, then we actually made it back out on the road and finished the tour! Which was hard, but actually we felt so much better for having done it.
People who've seen me live will know how much emotion goes into my performances. I think the gigs that happened were super-emotional, sometimes the air seemed to be vibrating like the rim of a glass, waiting to crack. For me, it was electric and unforgettable. And mental.
Thanks to everyone for their support and understanding. The rescheduled Germany dates are on their way, but the UK dates are ready.
Full venue and ticket information is on the Live Dates page.
Here's a nice fan phone video from the UK tour, of Passionflower in it's natural habitat: from the 5th row in a tiny venue:
Oh and by the way, I have a new release coming soon. And lots of videos. More info on the way.
Thanks for reading, see you on the road!
